Joining forces for Jobseekers

Blending UK expertise & experience with local best practice to help unemployed Australians into work

Reed in Partnership invests in jobseekers to help them identify and overcome their individual barriers to employment. We know that when someone has been out of work for years, or perhaps never had a job, one of the hardest things for them to believe is that they really can get into work. That’s why we empower jobseekers so that they can make the right choices for themselves and their families.

Through our work in Australia we will provide intensive, personalised support for jobseekers. We have experience working with a wide range of customer groups, all of whom share a common goal: the need to find sustainable employment.

In the past ten years we’ve worked with the long-term unemployed, lone parents, ethnic minorities, people with disabilities and those with drug and alcohol abuse problems. We pride ourselves on being able to break down the most severe barriers to employment.

Australian success
Following Reed in Partnership’s success in being awarded three Employment Service Area (ESA) contracts by the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations, we have been working hard to build further links with employers and with local partners.

Reed in Partnership has significant experience of running successful welfare to work services in the UK, where we have helped over 105,000 people make the transition from benefits into employment. We are looking forward to learning from best practice in Australia and using the innovative approach we have brought to the UK market. The contracts will start helping jobseekers in Bayside and Maroondah in Victoria, and Ipswich in Queensland, on 1 July.

Chris Melvin, Reed in Partnership’s Chief Executive, said: “Our success has been built on our understanding of employers combined with our ethos of working in partnership with government, external agencies and a range of community organisations.”

Our Executive Director in Australia, said: “This is a really exciting time for us. We are committed to working in partnership and building strong links in the communities that we serve.”

Reed in Partnership has also made a commitment to re-invest any money made over the life of the contract back into our Australian business. This reflects our aim of developing a long-term business so that we can help even more people make the transition from welfare into employment.
